Executive Chef Bill Doehring

Executive Chef Bill Doehring

As executive chef of Mitchell’s Ocean Club, Bill Doehring brings extensive knowledge and leadership to the modern American supper club. A graduate of Johnson & Wales University in Charleston, S.C., Doehring has more than 22 years of experience in the restaurant industry. During the last 14 years he has spent as an executive chef at multiple restaurants, Doehring has developed specialized culinary skills and particularly enjoys cooking seafood.

Doehring’s culinary career began at age 15 in Cleveland when he entered restaurant industry as a dishwasher at a family-owned Italian restaurant. He then spent seven years with C.A Muer Restaurants, and at the ripe age of 23 became the executive chef at Engine House #5, while simultaneously taking on the role as sous chef at Charlie’s Crab.  Chef Doehring later became the executive chef at Hyde Park Restaurants, which was named “Best Seafood in Cleveland” multiple years. While leading the culinary team at Hyde Park Restaurants, Doehring was chef at Metropolitan Grill and then opened Blake’s Seafood Grill in Crocker Park. 

When he's not in the kitchen, Doehring enjoys brewing his own beer and spending quality time with his family, watching his son Charlie and daughter Alli play sports along with his wife Maggie.
