What the Critics Say
"Millennial supper club with dazzling bling in décor and drinks. More glitz in ginger salmon, Kobe burgers and truffle deviled eggs."
-Golden Brand, Florida Trend's Golden Spoon Awards, 2012
"It’s not a secret why Mitchell’s Ocean Club in Easton has won so many awards – Executive Chef Jared Yazvac and his team have developed an iron-chef quality menu that it’s just incredible. Every item in their menu is superb, but if I have to choose one that I like the best I would say it is the Blackened Snapper with wilted spinach & jalapeño tartar sauce. They have it listed as the “Club Feature” in their dinner menu. If you love fish and live in Columbus, do not miss trying this dish; you will not be disappointed!"
-Iron Chef Columbus, 2011
"With six locations in five states, the upscale chain Ocean Prime deserves at least a sliver of the credit for the mainstreaming of the Prohibition-era cocktail, with its Cucumber Gimlets, Whiskey Clovers and Strawberry Smashes. But its signature show-stopper is still one of its silliest drinks: The Berries & Bubbles. Chunks of dry ice are added to a rich purple mix of citrus vodka, Champagne, marinated berries and house-made sour mix, and the end result is a raucously bubbling brew that's guaranteed to turn heads around the bar. The fruit flavor is intense, the bubbles add texture and the dry ice gives it a strangely intoxicating aroma (and creates ice on the stem). It's pulpy, it's preposterous ... and somehow, it makes perfect sense."

"...My very favorite moment came when I tried the mouthwatering dessert pictured on page 80 (Baked Alaska). I dropped by Mitchell's Ocean Club after work on a Wednesday, sat by myself at the bar and ordered a Grapefruit Fizz and a slice of the Baked Alaska. I kid you not, this thing is so gorgeous, so towering, so decadent that everyone else sitting at the bar spontaneously burst into applause when the waiter brought it out. It was a magical moment. An impromptu shared moment with fellow food lovers."
-CRAVE, Shelley Mann, Summer 2011
"Spud lovers can pick from nine different potato side dishes, including creamy whipped potatoes, parmesan truffle french fries and jalapeno au gratin with Swiss cheese. (Plus! Baked, twice-baked, roasted garlic mashed, sweet potato fries, candied yams and latkes.) It's tempting to forgo the entrée altogether!"

-The Columbus Dispatch, 2010
Amber lighting and tabletop candle-lamps illuminate the dining room, while the wine cases and bar are accentuated in luminescent blue. An outdoor terrace offers additional seating during fair weather and a piano bar contributes to a supper club atmosphere.
